Short bio

POWER is a melodic hard rock band from Los Angeles, formed on the Sunset Strip in 1988 by guitarist Shaun Skillin and singer Greg Edelman. Voted best band on the Strip in 1991, the band went on hiatus in 1992, reunited in 2012 and released the comeback album Restored in 2016. A remastered Restored and the new album Shocker are on the way.

Long bio

POWER started in 1988 as a songwriting partnership between guitarist Shaun Skillin and singer Greg Edelman, with bassist Greg Bier joining as the band took shape. Drummer Tony Phillips and keyboardist Larry Town completed the first lineup. The band recorded steadily, played the Hollywood clubs at the height of the Strip, and in 1991 was voted best band on the Strip. In 1992 the members stepped back to focus on their families.

Twenty years later the three founders got back in a room and started writing again. Guitarist Joel Ellis (The Cauze) joined in 2014 and drummer Michael Svoboda (Justice Parker, My-T-Mo) in 2015. In the summer of 2016 POWER released Restored, which mixes new songs with reworked material from the band's early years, followed by the video "America" on July 4, 2017. Founding guitarist Shaun Skillin died in January 2024. The band carries on in his memory with a remastered Restored and the new album Shocker.
