Shaun Skillin

Shaun Skillin picked up his first guitar at age 10.  Shortly after, he wrote his first song - a blues-based rock number - and has been writing in this genre, among others, ever since. Shaun brings his Bluesy, Rock style lead guitar to POWER’s extensive repertoire with live and recording experience going back to his teen years in the late 70’s. Born in 1964 in Maryland, Shaun moved to Houston Texas when he was 9 years old where he developed his playing and performance skills at live shows with early bands Tangent and Asylum beginning at age 13.

Shaun moved to Los Angeles at age 21 and formed short-lived original rock band Diamond Romeo (1986-1988), soon after becoming one of the original founding members of Power in 1988. Countless performances at famous venues including The Whiskey A Go Go, Gazzari’s and the world-famous Troubadour continued throughout the next several years.

The primary pen of many of Power’s most memorable and successful songs such as “Can’t Let you Go” and “Got What it Takes” along with more recent compositions like “Indecision” and the spooky ode to a departed friend, “Any World”, Shaun also doubles as the band’s producer/engineer from his studio in Centennial Colorado.
